Clinical trials are research studies. Scientists and doctors try to find better ways to treat a disease. All medication undergoes a thorough review process before the Food and Drug Administration allows it to become available to the general public. Clinical trials are part of the review process. Trials help to determine whether experimental treatments or new ways of using existing therapies can improve the treatment of disease, including Ph+ CML. All clinical trial participants must sign an informed consent with the study center before enrolling in the study. This is a form that you sign that indicates that you have been informed about the clinical trial and agree to participate. Before you decide to take part in a clinical trial, it is important to discuss this decision with your doctor and the people close to you. Learn more about what Novartis Oncology is working on. |
